History
Gedevelop was established in 1987 as a result of a buy-out of a product line developed by the R&D department of Gullfiber AB in Sweden, nowadays Isover – Saint-Gobain. This product line – GFM, Glass Flow Measurement – had been in service at the Gullfiber plant for a number of years, and with the establishment of Gedevelop the aim became to achieve a broad expansion of the system world wide.
By now the GFM system has found its application in more than 90% of all glass fibre plants around the world. More than 2000 cameras have been supplied and are still in operation all over the world. While achieving worldwide acceptance of GFM installations, Gedevelop started to focus on another concept based on identical principles but intended for measurement and control of gobs in the glass container industry.
It was at the request of and in co-operation with the glass container industry that the GIA, Gob Image Analyser, was developed. Today, the GIA system has a well renowned reputation with close to 400 cameras successfully installed worldwide.
Since 2006 Gedevelop is member of the Indutrade Group, an industrial group specializing in components, systems and services with high-tech content within selected niches. In 2007 the Indutrade’s sales totalled EUR 620 million. The numbers of employees was approx. 2100. Indutrade is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm, Sweden.
